A Bolder Cat Eye for Day and Night

Libertine via Nordstrom Beauty Blog.  The classic cat eye is back this fall, but this time the signature ‘60s look is bigger and bolder. For their Fall 2014 collections, designers sent models down the catwalk with reverse cat eyes, colored cat eyes, double cat eyes and monochrome cat eyes. The look is feminine with a touch of rock ’n’ roll rebellion, so perhaps it’s no surprise that some of our favorite looks were inspired by fearless females. For her collection based on suffragettes, designer Karen Walker gave models a slightly more dramatic version of the classic cat eye that works great for a daytime look. Libertine’s punk inspired monochrome cat eye builds on the original look, giving it a dramatic spin that will light up the night. Here’s how to get these two looks. karen_walker_cat_eye Karen Walker via Popsugar. Step 1: Choose a black  liquid liner or eye pencil. Start at the middle of your upper eyelid and draw a thick line close to your lashes. Step 2: Start from the inner corner of your eye and draw a thinner line that connects with the larger line. Step 3: Draw a line starting from your last lash to create the eyeliner “wing.” Step 4: Draw a line back from the outer end of the wing back to your upper lash line, creating an empty triangle. Step 5: Fill in the triangle. libertine_monochrome_cat_eye Libertine via XOVain. Step 1: Choose both a black and white liquid liner or eye pencil. With the black liner, start at the middle of your upper eyelid and draw a thick line close to your lashes. Step 2: Start from the inner corner of your eye and draw a thinner line that connects with the larger line. Step 3: Draw a line starting from your last lash to create the eyeliner “wing.” Step 4: Gently smudge the line above your eye. Step 5: Take the white pencil and line the waterline of your bottom eyelid. Smudge this line a bit, too.
